Music forms an integral part of the Christian experience at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church. We seek not only to preserve tradition and formula but also to expand these horizons to continually promote an artistic response to our liturgical environment. We see the function of the choir as bi-partite. The choir supports and enhances congregational singing and response while also providing a schooled, artistic response to serve the mystery and meaning of the liturgy. Music is inextricably linked to the liturgy at St. Nicholas.

The Parish Choir of St. Nicholas is made up of both volunteer members from the congregation and paid section leaders. Each week they provide anthems and motets from both the traditional and non-traditional Anglican repertoire as well as select minor propers for the day, sung to Gregorian Chant. Once a month, the choir presents a choral mass. Evensong is offered several times throughout the year and ends with a short organ recital performed by guest organists from around the area. Our current music list and evensong schedule can be found on this website or by obtaining the published Kalendar for the year.
