FAITH FIESTA IS COMING!

Celebrate "Fiesta" at St. Nicholas on Sunday, September 29th, immediately after the 9:00 am combined service. Faith Fiesta is a celebration that marks the opening of our fall schedule, new beginnings for our church family, and all.

Bring the children and their friends to enjoy the festivities and to sign up for Church School at St. Nicholas.

For older boys and girls—acolyte opportunities with training in altar services, and more with Nicky Sawyer. For younger children, Rollie Spinks offers church related stories and games plus participation in the church school processional each Sunday.

As for Fiesta Fun ...

  • Children—Join the coin hunt in Ice Mountain, a crushed ice delight!
  • Everyone—Inhale and taste the barbecue with chefs Adar Venyige and Sal Guido from Voila Catering, a group of young caterers who are renting the St. Nicholas kitchen. Remember the lunch they served on Sept.1? Delicious!
  • Enjoy—gourmet treats in bowls and platters of food from our church family of great cooks. Often they share their recipes. Last year the Dump Cake reached a new high in popularity.

We will have our own Boba Bar with special drinks featuring dabs of jellied wonder that slide right up the large straws. They will be served by two Boba specialists. Wait 'till you see...and taste!

HIGHLIGHT SEPTEMBER 29— "FIESTA At St. NICHOLAS!"

SUNDAY CYCLE

The Sunday Cycle is an idea that seems to have become a happy part of life at Saint Nicholas. The idea was to offer something after most 10:00 am Sunday Eucharists. The Cycle was intended to include a fellowship buffet, a Forum with presentations by either the Rector or guests, a music emphasis, and a day for light refreshments and visiting.

The first Sunday Cycle event will be an outing to a German restaurant on October 6. This is the Saint Nicholas version of Germany's famous Oktoberfest.

Father Furman is on vacation until September 21. Father Verdi will be priest-on-duty until that time. In an emergency, Father Verdi can be reached at 818-385-8083 or through the Parish Office (818-788-4486).

BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES

The Church Office is updating the records! If you have not supplied us with the dates (years not needed!) of the birthdays and anniversaries in your family, please do so soon! We want to make sure to include you in our Parish Prayers and card mailing. Call or e-mail us today. Thank You!
